As you know, the Latin word, ‘per diem’, means daily. In the staffing world, it refers to a single shift assignment. The benefit of per diem staffing is you get to pick and choose the specific dates and hours you want to work. There are no minimum hour requirements. However, there is the possibility of a per diem shift being canceled due to decreased patient census or other reasons. You can also try working in variety of different clinical settings. We have opportunities in a variety of outpatient settings, clinics, surgi-centers, long-term care and rehab facilities, home care, schools, and occupational health. Every assignment will have its own clearance process. Please note that credentialing and orientation processes in today’s staffing industry are very extensive.

For you to begin per diem employment, you must complete the hiring process and become formally employed by CMS. Visit our Employment Requirements Page to learn more about the hiring & credentialing process. There is a great deal of personal and professional screening required before you can be cleared both by our HR team as well as the HR and Credentialing team at the facilities where you would like work. For some facilities, we will need to start by getting you formally approved by the facility and then can work on the hiring process.

Most hospital facilities no longer offer PRN staffing options. Due to extensive credentialing and computerized documentation requirements, most hospitals now only offer full time, contract options.  Please consider our current contract opportunities.
