Currently seeking a RN to work in Oncology units for a 13 week assignment (with possible extension) in Baltimore, MD. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years clinical experience and 2 years of specialty experience.

AMBULATORY ONCOLOGY (IPOP/HIOP and the Outpatient Infusion Center) travelers that:

  • are Epic trained and preferably Beacon ( chemotherapy orders for Epic)  trained as well
  • learned ONCOLOGY a before they started traveling, preferably in a large academic environment.   Have  a solid background in in oncology, including classroom and precepted experiences, as well as an employment history that demonstrates  a consistent practice in oncology. 
  • are well educated on basic oncology principles of care, oncologic emergencies, symptom management, sepsis, the deteriorating oncology patient, vascular access devices, peripheral access, and have general disease knowledge and solid infusion background and work history.
  • have solid chemotherapy AND immunotherapy  administration experience .. preferably for both solid and liquid tumor types… and have been actively giving chemo/immunotherapy, leading up to this submission, in an outpatient infusion environment
  • clinical trial experience preferred
  • BIO/CHEMO Certification preferred
  • OCN Certification preferred

Shift: Travelers could be asked to rotate between the two Outpatient Infusion Clinics:

  • IPOP/HIPOP Clinic – Blood and Marrow Transplant and Heme Malignancies- patients undergoing active treatments and supportive care  – Weinberg 5
  • Outpatient Oncology Infusion Clinic – Weinberg 2

 

Both Clinical Areas:

13 week contract

Full time hours 40 hrs/week

Travelers scheduled to unit needs. No fixed shifts or shift sequence.

10 hour shifts X 4 shifts per week

 

UNIT – IPOP/HIPOP Clinic

Four 10 hour days

Every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday

 

UNIT = Weinberg 2nd floor Outpatient Oncology Infusion, SKCCC, The Johns Hopkins Hospital

Four 10 hour days or five 8 hour days per management

Weekend Time: When rotating to the 2nd floor infusion suite – we have limited Sat. hours.

Rotation to weekend currently infrequent when working full time on the 2nd floor.

Late shift coverage: Part of working in the 2nd floor Infusion suite includes late shift coverage and late

shift on call coverage.

Staff work 8-10 hour shifts (8-430pm or 8-630pm) and rotate ~4 times in a 6 week schedule to a late

shift which is 9-730pm. Also on call ~ 4 times a schedule to cover the late shift, until 730pm, if the late

shift person calls out.

Rate Details

Please note: Quoted pay rate is for local candidates. Travelers will be paid the equivalent of the local rate minus housing. Housing stipends available. Please note orientation is paid at full rate and parking is reimbursed. Travelers please request a sample pay stub to know to see your take home wage.
