Registered Nurse (RN)- Community Health

Currently looking for an RN to work in the breast, cervical  colorectal cancer and/or lung cancer screening program through the Harford County Health Department.  Prefer RN who has community health experience or clinical experience in breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer.

Monday through Friday: 40 hours/week through June 30, 2018 then will likely be extended through June 2019 (depending on grant funding)

• Work hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a 1 hr lunch
• Take phone calls from clients interested in being screened for breast, cervical, colorectal cancer and/or lung cancer
• Provide education on cancer screenings procedures, possible findings and the Harford County Health Department’s Cancer Screening Program
• Determine eligibility based on program guidelines and enroll clients as appropriate.
• Complete documentation in clients records and program databases
• Schedule appropriate screening procedures, communicate with providers related to screening results and follow
• Participate in Quality Assurance and Improvement processes
• Work as a team with other staff in the Cancer Prevention program
• Participate in the continued integration of the varied services in the Cancer Prevention Program
• Assess and address clients individual needs and barriers to care
• Attend program training classes locally, at the Maryland Department of Health in Baltimore and other sites as needed
• Work on set approved days

Skill Set Requirements

Must have at least 2 years of Clinical Experience and 1 year in desired specialty.

Profile Requirements

Require an updated resume, skills checklist, and two recent manager or supervisory references. Please note these are the standard requirements but they can vary by facility. Need active MD or compact license.


Rate Details

Please note: Quoted pay rate is for local candidates. Travelers will be paid the equivalent of the local rate minus housing. Housing stipends available. Please note orientation is paid at full rate and parking is reimbursed. Travelers please request a sample pay stub to know to see your take home wage.
