Join me in congratulating Kara Keene-Worobetz as October’s clinician of the Month for CMS! Kara joined the team in March of 2016 and has been extended at BWMC for over a year and a half at this point in the ICU. They love her so much at BWMC that she is even going to be joining them as a full time staff member after her next contract – congrats, Kara!
In August of this year, Kara was even recognized by the hospital as their Daisy Award winner. This is a nationwide honor for outstanding nurses, and while it may not be typical for an agency nurse to win this award, they wanted to recognize Kara for her outstanding performance on her most recent assignment – that is pretty remarkable.
Before joining CMS, Kara was at both UMMS in the ICU and Bayview in the ER. She had always heard about travel nursing but did not realize there was such a thing as local contracts. When a co-worker told her about CMS she leapt at the opportunity and has not looked back. See below for some feedback from previous and current supervisor:
*While working with Kara Keened in the ICU, she was able to provide a productive work environment through her communication, time management, and knowledge. One of Kara’s intriguing characteristics was her therapeutic skills during a patient emergency. She always kept her composure during the emergency and provided the best patient care – Charge RN
*Kara has been an excellent team member. She is very knowledgeable and a great patient advocate. – Nurse Manager
Thank you once again for all that you do, Kara – we are so proud of you here at CMS!
